So I guess a few people in the community have been asking about an JFB/IPB layout. Some of the JaxBoards community knows I have worked on one and had it complete to the best of what Sean had implemented at the time. I am now back on the project.

Since many eyes are better then one, I am going to give people access on my forum (yes, you will have to register and select the skin) to poke around and see if anyone can find any bugs to report so I can fix them before I release the meta.

If you find any bugs or anything I'm missing, please post them in here: click!

At this stage, I plan on releasing the meta set early to mid next week (Oct 10-12).

Thanks for any participation on helping to get this the first major meta set released ;)

just a quick look but here's what I got so far:

- might want to reorder the poster info in posts to match IPB... not a big deal or anything. Also you might want to add a join date thing there too if that's possible

- Quote and edit links are different sizes

- Contact buttons below posts are missing. They can be added since I had them at my board at one point, but iirc an IM button can't be added yet

- quick reply box is really tiny and full reply/new topic seems to suffer from the same as well as lacking wysiwyg all together- guessing you haven't worked on that part yet.

- need the option for disabling wysiwyg by default in the skin and language settings... probably should just change the name of that to board settings

- friends and new posts links should be with the My Control links, not the calendar, search and memberlist (you need to add a calendar link too)

- what you have for expand/collapse is ugly and doesn't match IPB or JaxBoards; shouldn't be too hard to fix

- rss icons in threads needs better positioning

- should make the default hover bubble thing (when you hover over names in the online list) to something more neutral; the blue glow is nice for this default skin but it doesn't match IPB's and certainly won't match a lot of other boards; should just be a white glow or something like that.

1. Done. Cant add member number since it isn't implemented. Have to talk to sean about that.

2. How in the world did you catch that? In all reality, I'll be adding the buttons anyways so they will be hidden.

3. Added to the list

4. Sean added that recently so I havent seen the meta for it but will do. Added

5. Can't. Thats how the meta is set up :/
Will add the calendar link though.

6. Will do. Added

7. Was just working on those, Will fix the padding.

8. No clue how I am going to do those since that's an image edit. Every skin is going to be different in that area. I'll get with sean and see if we can come up with a solution.

i imagine something like this
<style type="text/css">.tooltip td{
background:url(http://bunchies.org/a/skins/asteroids/tooltip.png);
}</style>
would be possible; I figure you'd have to have some amount of CSS to go with it to make up for the things JaxBoards has that other software doesn't

This thing is looking better all the time guys, keep it up! I really like what I'm seeing. :)

I've contacted Matt about the modcp, and from the looks of things, the modcp needs a good revamp before I release the meta to it. I believe I coded it in a hurry, so it's a bit messy code/template-wise.

If you guys need anything else from me, just let me know.

Thanks a bunch Matt, I u

Just an update on this:

I think I am going to hold off for a while to release this. Though it is coming along fine, There are a few major things missing that I can't work on (MCP, search, friends list to name a few). Plus, the way the META sets are set up right now, it can get highly confusing for people that don't know how to use them.

Sean and I have an idea to help everybody with this. Sean just needs to code it in. Last he has said anything about it, he said a week or 2 before he will have it done.

Why would editing the meta tags be important to people using the template though?

I was hoping that I could take your meta set and convert them to hardcoded PHP files, as I have done for the default template. I could then just provide a way for people to select your meta set over mine, which would be as simple as changing a dropdown.
