Okay, lubby dubby mode [ON] OFF

These are, by far, the best forums I've ever seen. I am completely impressed by the self-refreshingness and the easy code. I really, really, really don't want to see these forums go down the drain. If there's any way we can help to keep these alive I'd like to help. ^_^

I say this now because I think it's heading toward this direction, but that's just me.

Jaxboards isn't going down any drain, it just isn't going to get much better for a while.

I haven't been around to tend to anything personally, because I have SO MANY OTHER THINGS going on in my life. Once my life gets to be a bit more stable and things start to slow down a little bit, I'll begin working on my personal projects again (including jaxboards).

Good luck forumers. Jaxboards is what you all will make it. I just won't be putting my own personal support and energy into it for a while. If the project dies as a result of me temporarily pulling myself away from jaxboards for a while, then I'll just bring it back to life whenever I return.

I have a lot of things to consider in the coming months.

JaxBoards is pretty fantastic as-is... I mean most of the things people have been wanting since forever ago have been add-on kinda things and not really forum things so even if we never get those kind of things JaxBoards is still a pretty quality software. and if Sean has the time to work on it, great, it'll get even better. If not though? Probably still the best forum software around.

there's a problem with marketing where i don't think anyone involved is any good at that sort of thing so we're not super popular but I think if people gave it a chance they'd really enjoy it.

who knows though? The realtime isn't even like a big thing for me, I just like the way certain things are structured (though tbh there's some things I'm not a mega fan of)

I mean i guess one reason i wouldn't recommend jaxboards is if a good modcp is really essential to you, but I don't know what I'd recommend in that case anyway since most forum modcp's are abysmal to begin with lmao

either way though I'll still be here every day to help people if they have issues with the forums, if people use them, great, if people don't I think that's a shame but I honestly don't have the time to learn marketing and get into that so that's out of my hands

Personally, JaxBoards is by far the most appealing forum software I've ever used. I completely understand Sean being busy with real life (especially since he's not making money off this), but I'm also a little concerned development is falling behind, especially since traditional forums are generally in decline (because of the growth of Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, and because the growth of American online population has flattened out).
Course clear! You got a card.

yeah i guess there's that worry that being the best forum software will be the equivalent of being the best hd-dvd player lol

Yeah, sort of. Other things have tended to crowd out standard forums, but I do think it would be easier to attract new members if there was a feeling your forum was on the cutting edge. JaxBoards has this feeling much more than, say, phpBB, but it would be better if significant updates happened sometimes.

I would use Jaxboards without question for the forums I've been a part of, had it been available to me.
