Since I am no longer working on this project, I decided to release the source code to all you developers out there on my favorite SVN:

https://github.com/Jaxboards/Jaxboards/
Sample SQL Dump available in this post

There's a few things missing - right now there exists no installer. I'm releasing the source code as-is, and I will eventually be creating an installer for the sake of simplicity in installing your own JaxBoard.

You may have some questions, such as:

Will the service still be available?
Of course! I am not taking the service down for the foreseeable future, this is just a release of the source code.

Will I now be able to move my board off of the service?
Yes, as soon as I can write an installer, I will have the option to start from an exported backup.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

How dare you! Its still the best forum service/project/script in my book. I personally thank you for going through with the idea so many years ago. Without JB I wouldn't have a nice forum to be proud of. I thought you wouldn't release JB source ever but, its a good thing. :)

Might teach myself a lil Ajax.

This is great news. I plan on checking this out when I get a chance, currently my free time is pretty booked. I might start working with this if I get a chance.

Seems like a good decision. It's been ages since you've released a new update, but there might be some budding developers out there who could do something special with this. And since online forums are generally in decline, it seems unlikely that you would've ever been able to make money off JaxBoards, even though it's terrific software.
Course clear! You got a card.

Sad but, true.

Thanks for making this available. I finished updating the code to use mysqli parameterized queries, and pushed the resulting patch sets into a github project forked from yours. Feel free to pull the changes back into your tree if you'd like.

My fork also fixes a lot of "strict standards" warnings that cause problems if you try to deploy JXBD in PHP 5.4.

Caveat: Both the change to mysqli and some of the fixes for warnings about class constructors break backwards compatibility with PHP 4. Not that anyone should still be using a version of PHP that was end-of-lifed six years ago, but I thought it was worth mentioning for completeness. :D

that's awesome

I also noticed Sean changed his username on github, breaking the link to the repo, so I updated that in the first post
