Ok, so the project is going well. Now I want to make groups out of a list automatically and I have no clue on how to go about this. Been thinking on and off about it for days and can not think of a way to do this.

Little background info; There are 11 classes of characters in the game. These chars can be placed in guild (which we have 2 of [main and sub]). Within the guild there are 7 ranks.
You can make 'parties' (groups) of 7 people. If you get a party with 6 or 7 people, you get an additional bonus.

So here's how it should work:
It should make a party by pulling people within the main guild with the highest rank and preferred classes first.
After that, it would fill in by rank.

Anyone have any ideas?
Wow! Now THAT was insightful!

SQL has some sorting mechanism that might help. I think it's something like ORDER BY FIELD DESC (for decending). Just google it for the real syntax. You could also do LIMIT BY. That'll get the highest ranks (assuming you have ranks stored as numbers or something of the sort). You'll probably have to ask for each class individually, and just pull from the highest ranked in each class as you needed.

I don't know, is that what you're looking for?
